How long does a garage cleanout take?
Most single-car garages take 1 to 2 hours. A heavily packed two-car garage with years of accumulated storage typically runs 2 to 4 hours. When you call, describe what you have and we give you an honest window. We confirm the firm on-site price before any loading starts, so there are no surprises on timing or cost.
Do I need to move things to the driveway first?
No. We go into the garage and carry everything out ourselves. You don't need to pre-stage, bag, or organize anything in advance. Just point at what needs to go and we handle all the lifting and loading from there. You can be present for as much or as little of the job as you want.
Can you take everything, including hazardous materials like paint and chemicals?
We handle most garage contents: tools, furniture, appliances, boxes, junk, and scrap metal. Paint, chemicals, propane tanks, and similar hazardous materials require separate disposal through the appropriate Portland-area facilities. We'll let you know exactly what we can and cannot take when you call, so you're not caught off guard on the day of the job.
What do you do with items that are still usable?
Usable items in good condition are routed to local donation centers when possible. We sort after pickup and make the call on what qualifies. You don't need to separate anything or set items aside in advance. What can't be donated goes to certified disposal facilities. We'll let you know how we routed things when the job wraps up.
Do you take scrap metal from garages?
Yes. Old tools, metal shelving, scrap iron, weight equipment, and similar materials are taken and recycled where accepted. Scrap metal is one of the cleaner diversion categories, so we make a point of pulling it out rather than mixing it with general debris. It gets routed to area recycling facilities rather than a landfill.
Is same-day garage cleanout available?
Often, yes. We run Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm. Call (503) 964-4886 in the morning and we'll check what's open that day. Same-day isn't guaranteed, but it comes through more often than not when you have a full garage that needs clearing. We'll give you an honest answer on availability right on the call.
